So I'm in the process of trying to make my own Cosmere blanket, based on this amazing one here, and I realized that Nalthis was left out of Arcanum Unbounded, as it doesn't have a short story. This means it doesn't have a fancy symbol, and won't have representation in the blanket. What's a girl to do? So far, my best idea is to tie multicolored strips of cloth in with the ties, but I'm feeling rather bummed that Nalthis wasn't included. Any ideas?

I made the mistake of reading it right before Thanksgiving lunch/dinner... So my eyes were all red and puffy.

Third book meaning Nyphron Rising, or Heir of Novron? XD (Curse those republications for screwing with book numbers) Both are acceptable answers. Nyphron Rising is probably the slowest of the Revelations books, and Heir of Novron (which contains Wintertide and Percepliquis) is the most painful due to character deaths, kinda like Hero of Ages was. To be fair, I slammed Oathbringer down on the table and took a 7 hour cry break after reading the end of part 3...

I just finished Throne of Glass yesterday and can honestly say I hated it, sorry. ^^' Celaena was such a brat and the rest of the characters weren't any better. There was an almost literal Deus Ex Machina at the end, and Maas kept referencing things and characters like they were supposed to make sense without giving any sort of background or explanation as to why. I kept expecting a BadA assassin like Vin and got stuck with Charlotte La Bouff from Princess and the Frog instead. I finished Oathbringer in a week. It took me four months to slog my way through Throne of Glass. It's definitely not one I'd recommend... Anyway! Some of my top books are: *Kingkiller Chronicles: Pat Rothfuss *Riyria Revelations and Riyria Chronicles: Michael J. Sullivan Study series (Poison Study, Magic Study, Fire Study): Maria V. My two favorite series. Need I say more? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Riyria Revelations and Mistborn. Wish I could add a SA reference in there somewhere, but then it would be getting long... I also go by BrinnaSilvio on some other websites, and she's an OC from my (unfinished) novel.

Nobody else loves The Blackthorn?! That one was definitely my favorite. Along with Bridge Four, You're In My Spot, Assassin In White, King's Wit, Wandersail, Hearthstone, Stormblessed, and Sylphrena. Honorable mention: Impossible by Two Steps From Hell Yeah it's not part of the album, or by the same artist, but I listened to it on repeat for hours while reading the climax of Oathbringer, because it fits so well!

I thought about using sticky notes, but I have a feeling I'd have so many the books wouldn't be able to close! XD Plus I was worried about them falling out. I've also considered keeping a Cosmere notebook to write ideas in, but I've no idea how to organize it.

I don't highlight my books. I love keeping them pristine and new looking, but I'm thinking of getting spare copies to mark up when I make Connections, develop theories, or see a Worldhopper! Do you highlight/make notes in your Cosmere books? How do you go about it? Do you color code things or write notes? Like red for Ruin, red and gold for Odium, green for Cultivation, white for Preservation, etc? Looking for ideas and advice!

I believe Arista prefers the term wizardess. Would buy again and have bought again. I have the paperback, e-book, and audiobook of all the Riyria books. Riyria. It's elvish for two. And the duo is absolutely fantastic! Royce and Hadrian are paired together so they can learn from one another. Royce is a former professional assassin that grew up in the slum streets. He places little value on human life and trusts no one. He's cynical and lacks any concept of morality. Right is what's good for him and wrong is what's bad. He's also the absolute king of sass. Hadrian is a former mercenary who can defeat anyone in a one-on-one fight, and even several opponents at once. While he has a bloody history himself, he remains relatively jovial and trusting of those around him. Sometimes a little too much. He's also the prince of sarcasm and a dreamer who always wanted to save the proverbial princess. The two are hired by various individuals for thieving and frame jobs, essentially. Archie wants dirt on Lanaklin, so he hires the pair to steal some love letters, which they're then hired by the writer of the letters to steal them back, and so forth. There's tons of plot twists woven throughout the books, and they're full of laughs, and some heartbreak as well. Sullivan isn't shy about killing characters off. But if you need a pick me up series after finishing Oathbringer, you should definitely check out Theft of Swords. Plus if you order from his website, you have the option to have them signed and personalized.

I'm one of those who doesn't like her. At all. Sure, she's absolutely brilliant, but she's also a rude snob. I can't stand the way she treats people like they're inferior to her just because they don't know as much. If she were more willing to actually teach instead of criticize, then maybe she'd be likeable. Instead, she acts like she expects everyone to have as much knowledge as she does when they haven't have the opportunities she's had. She's had various forms of learning, schooling, libraries, money, and more at her fingertips since she was a child. Yet for all her research, she still doesn't understand PEOPLE. Shallan spent SIX MONTHS chasing her from country to country, and Jasnah brushes her off. For all her brilliance, she doesn't seem to spot what King T is up to, either. She gets a few redeemable moments in OB, but I doubt she'll ever be a character that I like. I expected her to go through with it in Thaylen City, and was about ready to chuck the book across the room because I was still hurting from Part 3. I'm glad she didn't, and it showed some beginning character growth for her. There were also some other hints about her past during Dalinar's flashbacks that leave me interested in learning more about her, but I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if Brandon offed her.

Judging by the gem found in the drawer that says something along the lines of not being "ready to swear the 4th ideal" and "shouldn't I want to protect people?" and adding in Kaladin's tendency to want to protect everyone and blame himself for his failures, I think the 4th ideal will be about accepting loss. Something along the lines of "I will save those I can, and abandon those I cannot." Saying that ideal would've meant he would have had to abandon his friends in Shadesmar, and he just couldn't do it. Kaladin holds his failures against himself, always believing he could have done better, even as a surgeon. It's the first lesson he learned as a surgeon, and still the hardest choice to make. You save who you can, and some people are beyond your ability to save. Admitting that you did what you could and it wasn't enough would be storming difficult.

So I reread Sixth of Dusk, Shadows for Silence, and The Emperor's Soul before I started in on Words of Radiance. ...I'm so glad I did. I believe it's during Shallan's first meeting with Mraize of the Ghostbloods. Obviously the man's a Worldhopper. That aside, who else noticed his collection of items from the other worlds? "Other curiosities baffled her. A vial of pale sand. A couple of thick hairpins. A lock of golden hair. The branch of a tree with writing on it she couldn't read. A silver knife. An odd flower preserved in some kind of solution. There were no plaques to explain these mementos. That chunk of pale pink crystal looked like it might be some kind of gemstone, but why was it so delicate? Bits of it had flaked off in its case, as if simply setting it down had almost crushed it." -WoR, pg 493 (hardback) Anyway, that's my take. Feel free to discuss your theories.

I just read Warbreaker about a month or so ago, so it's still pretty fresh. ^^

Revelations and Chronicles are both amazing! I already have Age of Myth pre-ordered. I have read (and am currently re-reading) WoK (But not WoR, will read after), WB, Elantris, TES, MB, MB era 2, The Reckoners, The Rithmatist, and several of the Cosmere novellas, (though not Secret History yet. Waiting for Arcanum Unbounded, which is also pre-ordered).
