Could Ruin not have provided the intent simply because he saw the opportunity of harnessing the powers of a mistborn? I'm not saying it would have been a special hemolurgic spike, just a spike med from Kelsier.

So, I was thinking about something. In the end of SH Kelsier says that he needs a new string to bind him to the physical realm, in BoM we find out that the "Bands" are a tip of a spear, could this be the spearhead that pierced Kelsier's heart? Would a spike that captured your essence (With Ruins or Preservations Intent) be able to bind you back to the physical realm? The bands might not be the actual spear (In fact, I would think that the spike in Kelsier's eye is forged from the spearhead), it might be just a hint but could the spear have been used for such an act of hemolurgy?
