I'm going too!

At the Shadows of Self release, I told Alyx that she was crazy for liking Steris. Later, halfway through the book I stopped and said to myself, "Rust. She was right all along. Steris is awesome." So Feather, I guess I owe you an apology!

Bands of Mourning will be about a search for TLR's metalminds. Perhaps Trellium provides a way to tap someone else's metalminds.

I love Syl's chemistry with Kaladin, but Adolin has grown on me as a character. I'm excited to see what happens to Adolin. I think as could go either way. Is he going to be a Releaser? Is he going to be Odium's Champion? Who can say? Also, I like the combat aspects to these discussions, and Syl can't really fight. I'm fond of her, but I'm fond of many Sanderson characters and I don't think she's especially interesting in a tournament.

Just watched it. The show isn't worth sitting through. You get about 30 seconds of Sanderson altogether. I wonder if History Channel would be ok with Brandon releasing the interview online. I would be interested to hear his full answers to the questions they asked, without having to sit through the annoying voiceover guy saying crap like "But the truth of this story might surprise you," and "This demon may not exist, but the legend behind it is very real."

This would be a fun fight to see, but I vote for Vin. Susebron has only ever been in one fight, in which he had much more power than anyone else. Vin is used to fighting in the face of overwhelming odds. Susebron has a good heart, but I don't think he has the grit or the wits to checkmate Vin.

If the response to the Letter can be trusted, Odium is trapped in the Rosharan System. This 'dead brother' could be a kandra. Perhaps Idashwy was starting to get involved in bad stuff, and a kandra was sent to try to talk her out of it. Or he could actually be her brother, who had just disappeared and hadn't died after all. But with all the crazy possibilities that could happen, I think that would be disappointing. That would be very interesting if it was a cognitive entity. Perhaps Kelsier, perhaps the splinter of Harmony's excess Ruin (but I think it's hanging out on Threnody. Also, it doesn't necessarily exist. Complete speculation.), or what if it was the cognitive shadow of somebody else? Maybe Rashek hanged around after he died too.

Hi guys. This is a version of Elimination that I don't currently plan on running online. I want to actually print out the cards and play it at a party. Yesterday was Hobbit Day (Bilbo and Frodo's shared birthday), so Kandra Skrull and I are throwing a Hobbit Day Party on Saturday. I don't think any of you live in the San Diego area, but if I'm wrong and you want to come to the party, send me a message. Besides watching Middle Earth movies and eating potatoes, we also wanted to play a Middle Earth themed game, so I decided to make Middle Earth Elimination. Please tell me what you think. It's going to be a group of ~10 people, some of which might have never played Elimination/Mafia/Werewolf before, so I don't want it to be too complicated. But I still want it to be fun. Rules that I want to include but might make the game too complicated are written in purple. Middle Earth Elimination Hmm... It seems I got carried away. Well, I definitely won't be using all the purple stuff by Saturday. I must sleep now, but tomorrow I will edit this post and add the "Free Peoples" roles. Edit: Finished the rules! Yay! The more complicated rules have 18 roles for the Shadow and 19 roles for the Free Peoples. The simpler rules have 3 for the Shadow and 5 for the Free Peoples.

The blue ajah is like the Lily from How I Met Your Mother of ajahs. She's always messing with other people's affairs. She may have a good reason for it, and the outcome may be positive, but I would never want to live my life that way. I would choose Green Ajah because Trollocs exist. When creatures that are truly evil exist, and you have magical powers, fighting them with your powers is the most straightforward solution. I still think that the Blue Ajah is a necessary evil, but it isn't for me.

Any friends of the show here? For those of you who haven't heard of it, The Weekly Planet is a podcast where two Australian guys talk about comic book movies. It's really funny, but not in a rehearsed kind of way. They do swear. If that bothers you, consider yourself warned. If you've never heard of the show, watch this clip. It's pretty great.

Way back at the Words of Radiance release, my friend asked Brandon Sanderson who would win in a fight between Szeth and Marsh. Brandon said that Marsh is pretty much an atium savant by now, so Marsh would win because it's hard to fight somebody who sees the future. Hoid, though. Isn't there a WoB somewhere that says Hoid's head would grow back if it was cut off?

For people wondering about the rules: You don't actually have to get the question right before you ask a new question. You just give it your best shot, and if you think you got it right, you go ahead and do another question. If you didn't get enough answers, or made a joke answer, waiting is a good idea. That way, other people who want to guess have a chance. (Spot on, ChocolateRob!) But if nobody knows the answer and it has been a couple of days, it's fine just to give it your best shot and then ask another question, just to keep the game moving. After you post it, if you look it up and realize you were wrong, you can make it up to everybody by adding a funny picture or something! But don't worry about these rules. They aren't set in stone. I made them up. The goal was to make this game quick and trivial, whereas Bad Descriptions is slower and more confusing.
