  1. "A contest of champions to the death" So in other words a match of Yugioh. Loser gets sent to the shadow realm, as is standard procedure.
  2. Pretty easily Elsecallers, with Lightweavers an honorable mention. When it comes to everyday utility, literally nothing beats being able to transform stuff. Food? Check. Water? Check. Waste disposal? Check. Raw Materials? Check. Shelter? Check. Who needs farmland when you can just conjure food out of thin air. Then you add teleportation as the cherry on top.
  3. It's the 4th ideal. 5th is "I will trust others to protect those I cannot", or something to that effect.
  4. On a completely unrelated note, the title of this thread reminds me of Dagothwave
  5. Brandon's not going to include the word "kill" in the title. And since it's Szeth, the W probably stands for wind, though obviously not certain. It's probably going to be Knight of the Wind, or Keeper of the Wind, or something like that. Or maybe it stands for World. Dunno. Though I do like Knot of Woes, but have no idea what that might refer to. Another cool name would be Kname of the Wind, with a silent K. Sounds like a neat book, somebody should write that.
  6. I'm waiting to get my copy of Starsight, so I figured I'd list all my predictions and grade them after I read it. Putting this in the spoiler section so that I can follow up with my grades freely. Like I've said before, Skyward is super similar to Gurren Lagann, so I'm kind of expecting a somewhat similar arc. To people who have seen the anime, this list will look very familiar. With that said, let's go. 1 - The eventual big bad of the series is going to be some sort of "Anti-Cytonic" being. Cytonic powers basically allow for space-time manipulation, so the Anti-Cytonic beings would be a species like the Anti-Spiral who have ascended to a higher dimension. Bonus points if they throw galaxies around like ninja stars. They might be the eyes. 2 - Spensa's major love interest of the series will be an Anti-Cyton that will not survive until the end. Bonus points if the Anti-Cyton has retrograde amnesia, gets mind-controlled to deliver an ultimatum of destruction from the Anti-Cytons, and dies of sudden death and plot convenience. 3 - Doomslug is the hyperdrive. I've said this before, and I still think it's true. Doomslug's going to be the Boota of Skyward. Bonus points if it turns into an anthropomorphized human during the series' final battle. 4 - Rodge dies, Spensa gets depressed for a while. This will happen before meeting the Anti-Cyton love interest from point 2. 5 - The Anti-Cytonics decide that instead of only destroying humans, they'll destroy all lower forms of life so that no more cytonic beings will be able to appear. This forces the evil alien empire to work with humanity. 6 - Mushrooms hold the key. They either provide Cytonic powers or poison the Anti-Cytonics. Though I'm guessing they provide Cytonic powers. 7 - Other members of Skyward Squad start getting their own Cytonic powers, but don't catch up to Spensa. 8 - The series ends with Spensa returning to Detritus to live as a hermit with doomslug. I'll try to remember any other dumb ideas I'm expecting to happen, but I think that covers the basics.
  7. The same way you kill Thanos, you aim for the head
  8. I've answered this question before, but seeing as the format changed and there are new cards, a new banlist, and a completely new mechanic in Link Monsters, I figure that I should update it. I think that the first priority for any player has to be negating Odium's Field Spell, Everstorm. That card is insanely busted and allows him to infinitely recover his destroyed Fused monsters while providing investiture for effects. Set Rotation is a hard counter that will completely prevent him from activating a field spell, but since it's limited to 1 and not searchable, it's not reliable. Same goes for Imperial Order. I think that both triple Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring are necessary to either negate or destroy Everstorm, especially if Odium moves first. If you can't stop him from spamming the field, Nibiru, the Primal Being can wipe his board in an instant. And since it doesn't destroy, Odium won't be able to recover those fused. Evenly Matched can also do this, but is much riskier. Ultimately though, I think that the best way to beat Odium is to abuse the mirror match. Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries can snipe crucial play extenders from his extra deck, and Super Polymerization is spell speed 4 mass removal that can give you a beatstick. I think that an anti-meta control deck focused around a Sky Striker or Thunder Dragon engine would provide enough firepower and resource recursion to simply grind him out.
  9. This is why you're not a Willshaper
  10. Willshapers are all about adventure and traveling. Clearly they earn their oaths by memorizing and singing the Pokemon theme song
  11. I've already said this, but Lirin's going to die for Kaladin to swear the 4th oath.
  12. I always thought it was the 5 pieces of Exodia
  13. Lirin's the (first) one who kept telling Kaladin that he couldn't save everyone. Lirin's going to finally get that message through Kaladin's thick skull, leading to Kaladin swearing the 4th ideal and getting everyone else to safety.
  14. Holy crap. I'll bet an emerald broam that Kaladin's going to swear the 4th ideal and leave Lirin to die in order to get Oroden out of there.
  15. Granted, but you must eat it all in one sitting. I wish the apartment two doors over would replace their smoke detector's batteries already.
  16. Look at them, they come to this place when they know they are not pure. Tenno use the keys, but they are mere trespassers. Only I, Vor, know the true power of the Void. I was cut in half, destroyed, but through it's Janus Key, the Void called to me. It brought me here and here I was reborn. We cannot blame these creatures, they are being led by a false prophet, an impostor who knows not the secrets of the Void. Behold the Tenno, come to scavenge and desecrate this sacred realm. My brothers, did I not tell of this day? Did I not prophesize this moment? Now, I will stop them. Now I am changed, reborn through the energy of the Janus Key. Forever bound to the Void. Let it be known, if the Tenno want true salvation, they will lay down their arms, and wait for the baptism of my Janus key. It is time. I will teach these trespassers the redemptive power of my Janus key. They will learn it's simple truth. The Tenno are lost, and they will resist. But I, Vor, will cleanse this place of their impurity. - Collected Ishes 1337, 42 seconds post-death.
  17. Yeah, but they don't have cat videos. What good are cats without cat videos?
  18. We know that aluminum is inert, so maybe an aluminum hammer might disrupt shardplate and let you break through it. If so, I would sneak up behind the shardbearer using the incredible silence of my Noctua NH-D15, then beat them over the head with it.
  19. Yeah, the tech and side characters definitely mirror some other stuff, but the basic plot progression and premise is far more Gurren Lagann than anything else
  20. I think it's been general consensus that it was talking about the battle of the tower. Other than that, the only thing I could think of would be if Kaladin somehow became king of Urithuru, since that's literally the only other major plot-relevant tower structure on Roshar that I'm aware of. However, Dalinar and the Kholins are in charge of Urithuru, so Kaladin would have to kick them out or be elevated to king in some way. In other words, Jasnah x Kaladin confirmed.
  21. Holy crap, that's why she's a Heretic. It's not because she doesn't believe in the almighty, but because she's literally unholy stone. It all makes sense now
  22. Stormlight's not ending with another Oathpact. Closest you'll get is the MC's standing in between books 5 and 6 to fill in the timeskip, and even that is mere conjecture in lieu of a different explanation
  23. Like other people have said, we've talked about them, but don't know enough to say much. After WoR came out, I had thought they were unmade heading to Narak, but seeing the unmade on-screen in Oathbringer seems to indicate that's not not the case. The descriptions just don't line up.
