DARK MODE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ADONALSIUM

Please note dark mode is coming after the 21st, but it is definitely on the table as a thing that is coming. Just wanted to make that clear!

Member titles still exist and will be in the same spot. It's honestly kind of funny for the screenshot Paleo chose that he chose a forum post where neither he nor the reply accounts had member titles. No change there. Correct! No, not because I don't want to, but because there are tons of updates in the several versions we have missed under the hood that could have a lot of effects. I mean, you can go to Invision Power's site and look at the changelog. I understand the desire. I just don't know if it's possible to do what you are asking here. There are probably hundreds or thousands of minor things and design changes. We are trying to keep things similar. Honestly, there may be things we miss that you will notice that we might not, and there are also going to be tons of settings we could adjust as well. We will likely be tweaking some things as we move along. It's an evolving sort of thing. As for the nebulous "rep thing" I alluded to before, I'm mistaken. An intermediate version we were working on a while ago had something different going on, and is not the case now, so rep titles will not have any changes on the 21st. Someday I'm sure we will add more I admit I'm a bit out of the loop on this one because I am very busy this term, so I haven't had much time to test stuff. There are a lot of settings we can play around with.

I know a lot of people use font colors for this. On mobile, less options is probably better than more, sadly. Also, with dark mode coming, people will need to be aware font colors could be completely unreadable in one or both of the modes. I know it is common to use them in the RP section, but keep this in mind. Also note, it's not our choice if Invision removes the functionality! Yes.

It's going to take somewhere between 2 and 4 hours, but might also take longer if there's some unexpected complications. I like the idea that Hoid was never really in any danger from the machine, he would have been strong enough or different enough to easily shrug it off....but his automatic defenses snapped into place and froze him anyway, because they were set too sensitively. Just the idea that he accidentally put himself in the mess is really funny to me.

Currently, BBCode can still work, but Invision does say: "BBCode support is deprecated and may be removed in a future release". We can enable it if people want for now, but this likely won't be permanent. Yes, many of the old things are totally irrelevant in 2023.

No new reputation levels for now, anything that requires thinking or custom configuration will have to wait. But there has been some interest in the ranks, so we'll have to consider that.

i believe it said that member titles will have moved, but will still exist. The "Top posters on topic" would show who has the most posts, right? Will that work on FGaRS?

Curiously, it appears that some of the physical books are still available on Amazon (through Crafty's own storefront). I just ordered the one supplement (besides the new Nobles one) that I'm missing. They seem to be saying in the comments that yes, their license is expiring (though there's some fuzzy room for interpretation on applying that response). But yes, they do intend to do a print run of the Nobles book, so I hold onto the hope that I'll be able to nab the entire run in physical form.
