      Oathbringer Spoiler Policy   11/13/2017

Oathbringer is out! Let's make our policy on spoilers clear! 1. You must preface topics with Oathbringer spoilers with the prefix [OB] in the front 2. You are only allowed to post spoilers and spoiler topics in the Oathbringer Spoiler Board, Cosmere Theories, and some select work-related forums. 3. For posts in the Oathbringer Spoiler Board you do not need to use spoiler tags inside a topic marked [OB]. For Cosmere Theories, you also do not need to put spoiler tags inside your topic if the topic has [OB] in the title. However, for Cosmere Theories, if you are adding Oathbringer stuff to an old theory without the [OB] tag, those must go in spoiler tags and you must make it obvious outside the spoiler tag that the spoiler is regarding Oathbringer content. 4. For select things that do require talking about OB spoilers, in Events, Coppermind, and Arcanum forums, those are allowed but keep OB spoilers in spoiler tags 5. Avoid and minimize spoilers in topic titles--even though those two boards will not appear in the Recent Topics ticker, topic titles still appear in Recent Activity and the forum home.  6. You aren't allowed to post Oathbringer spoilers in places other than listed, even with spoiler tags.  It will be nine months and then the Oathbringer board will be re-merged with the Stormlight board and you will not need to tag these spoilers. If you'd like to move something in the Stormlight Archive board to the Oathbringer board, to update it with new Oathbringer information, Report the post and we will happily move it to the Oathbringer spoiler board. Part-by-part Reactions Though the Oathbringer Spoiler Board will be very spoilery, very fast (maybe don't come there until you've read the book, as people do have copies that bookstores sold early), you'll have these five topics for reactions if you want to nerd out: Part 1 Reactions
      Part 2 Reactions
      Part 3 Reactions
      Part 4 Reactions
Full Book Reactions For parts 1-4, they will not include the interludes immediately following it. On Discord All Oathbringer spoilers on Discord will be exclusively in the #oathbringer_spoilers channel for the nine month spoiler period and nowhere else.

Hello friends and family!

This week was awesome! We finally got to listen to conference, which was amazing, and we loved to hear the Prophet´s voice and to be able to hear what the apostles have to say. It was interesting to me to see how much they all seemed to be saying "Prepare yourselves. There´s a storm coming, so get your testimonies deep, your eyes set on the prophet, and follow him no matter what." I also loved loved loved Elder Richard G. Scott´s talk, and am going to be looking at it and studying it. It just talks so amazingly about the things most important.

We also had a miracle this past week. We went to Conference, and after the first session, a young man who´s about 20 years old comes up to us (we´ve never seen him), and says (in essence) "My name´s Jorge.  I want to change my life, and to dedicate my life to serving God." we responded "Well, the way to do that is through repenting, and being baptized." He said "Okay, sounds good."

He´s amazing. He came to the 4 general sessions, and is just incredible. We´re really excited for him and to be able to help him.

I love you all, and I love conference!

Elder Stay.

Hello friends and family!

This week has gone quite well, and I´ve really enjoyed it. My companion was sick on Wednesday, so we had to stay in the room while he recovered. But he quickly recovered, and we got back to work.

Sadly, this next week is elections, and so, by law, we´re not allowed to get together to watch conference, so we´re going to have to wait till next week (the 11th and 12th). That´ll be too bad that we´re going to miss it! You´ll have to fill me in in what happens.

A cool experience this week is that we had a lesson with our pensionista (who has attended church a few times) and our relief society president. Our relief society president shared her testimony and was able to help testify and help our pensionista to work through some of her doubts. I would love it if you can pray for her- her name is Giovanna, and her son´s name is Jesus. We are trying to help her to be baptized the 18th of October, a week or so before I go.

Sorry! I don´t have a lot of time! But here´s a story from this week.

My mission is going great. I´m seeing lots of miracles here. In fact, I just saw one this morning. My pensionista (who isn´t member) is going through a really rough time this week, and she prayed with us as we were leaving this morning, pleading for the Lord´s help, and as she prayed, AS SHE PRAYED, someone knocked on the door. She finished her prayer and started to cry from sadness and that same person called her on the phone to say she was there. We opened the door, and she was able to hug her and help her to take the next step.

I love that so much! That during her prayer, as she was asking God for help, he sent it to her. He actually sent her much earlier, as we were beginning to talk with her that friend called and said that she would be passing by to pick up something. There is no doubt that God loves her and listened to her prayer.

In other words, the mission is awesome.

I love you all!

Hello Friends and Family!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! I ate cake quite a few times, and had a good day.

This week we had a cool experience with following the Spirit. We had like a half hour before an appointment, and we were going to go to the area of our next appointment to try and find some less actives over there. As we´re in the way, I felt like we should go to the chapel. My companion was a little unsure about it, because the chapel was kind of far away. So we went there, chatted with people for a little bit, and are about to leave when a man walks in. He came in to get out of the cold, and isn´t a member, and we chatted with him for about an hour. He really needs this gospel, but truth be told, I´m not sure if he´s ready to accept it yet. But we gave him a Book of Mormon, talked to him a bit, and I think helped him get a little closer to it.

It is great to me to see the Lord´s hand in our lives, and see him guiding things. I love being a missionary, and doing what the Lord wants of me!

I love you all so much! I´ll talk and write more next week!

We invited her, and she said that she would. We enter in, and we start talking to her, and she starts opening up, and tells us that her life is starting to fall apart. We were able to help her a little, to give her a priesthood blessing, and able to listen and comfort her some. Something that me and my companion have started to do that has resulted really well: Every day, when we do our planning at the end of the day, we talk about one time in that day that we felt like we felt a prompting to the Spirit, and then we followed it. It´s been very interesting to see how it changes our perspective on a day, and it´s making us a lot more aware and sensitive to the Spirit.

For example, yesterday, we go and visit a member who´s returning back to church. We were looking for her husband, but he wasn´t there. So we were about to go, when I felt, not very strongly, but I did feel it, that we should ask her, if we would like to talk with us. We invited her, and she said that she would. We enter in, and we start talking to her, and she starts opening up, and tells us that her life is starting to fall apart. We were able to help her a little, to give her a priesthood blessing, and able to listen and comfort her some. I know that that´s where we needed to be and needed to do in that moment, and I know that she needs the Lord´s help in this time, and as a part of that, he sent us to go see her.

We´ve been working hard, my companion and I, and we´ve seen some miracles. We´re talking to about 6 people who have, this week, decided to be baptized, and who are just not sure when. We hope that we´ll be able to help them progress, to help them have the change of heart that´ll help them to do the right.

I love you all!

This week was awesome! ELder Andersen (the apostle) came on Thursday, and he spoke to everyone in the mission. He talked a lot about the Atonement and he said something very interesting. He said "If you can´t see the change in (the eye of the investigators), please, have them wait a little longer to be baptized." I also had the question of what the Lord wanted for me after I had returned home- and from what I heard, he told me "Don´t worry about it!", then told me "But the most important thing is to find an enternal love, and to stay faithful in the church."

Elder Andersen challenged us to be able to talk with him in 20 years in a stake conference, and say "Elder Andersen! We were in Arequipa together. This is my wife and my children, and I have a calling in the church. " And I´m going to keep it!

I´m sorry this letter´s so short! I was doing a bunch of family history work today. Probably too much, but oh well. Next week I will write you all more.

I´m super excited, and going to be sprinting till the end!

Hello Friends and Family!

This week went well. There was a very cool presentacion in our ward about the pamphlet of My Family, and I know that it´s something that really helps us. As we share stories of our ancestors, really, we come closer to them and closer to God.

With our investigadors, this past week we talked with Marcos. His wife has returned from the temple, and he´s got a really strong desire to be baptized. We talked about Joseph Smith, about how he was called to be a prophet. He basically said- "I´m not really sure if he´s a prophet, but I know this is the true church. I know I feel an incredible peace and tranquility when I attend church, and that´s good enough for me."

He´s basically following the advice of President Uchdorf: "Doubt your doubts before you doubt your fears." He says he´s still going to pray, and he´s still going to learn more about Joseph Smith (his wife has the hour long movie), but he still wants to be baptized. He´s not sure when, but he wants to do it soon.

I love you so very much! Keep reading and keep praying. It´ll all work out in the end!

I´m going to stay here in Hunter for 6 more weeks! And it´s very likely that I´m going to stay here until the end of my mission in November. It´s a good thing to be able to know- it´ll let me be able to work a little more long term, and be able to be a little more patient with the slow and steady progress of the work.</div> <div><br></div><div>We had two amazing experiences this week. The first was with Kareem, an investigador we´ve kind of let at one side. She´s the 14 year old daughter of a reactivated member, and she´s been attending church, and reading the book of mormon, but still isn´t baptized. We talked to her for the first time in a while this week, and we asked her "Why do you go to church?" "Because I feel good there, and the things I learn there help me to be better, and to do what God wants me to do." "And what does God want you to do?" "To be baptized."</div> <div><br></div><div>It was pretty amazing. She´s progressing and strengthening her testimony by herself. The only problem is that her nonmember father doesn´t want her to get baptized yet. But we´re going to keep on visiting, keep on helping, and we´re going to try and encourage her to talk to her father so that he can understand how important it is.</div> <div><br></div><div>The other amazing (and slightly similar) experience is of Marcos. He got marreid about a month ago to a recent convert (he´s not a member). He´s talked to us a few times, and he´s been coming to church. This week, his wife went to the temple for the first time to be endowed. While he was home, he was thinking a lot about his relationship with God, and how much closer he´s gotten to him. He invited us over to his house Sunday after church (he came by himself!). </div> <div><br></div><div>When we went over, we asked him the same thing. "What does God want you to do?" "To be baptized." He said that he wanted to be able to make this decision for himself- he says he feels amazing at church, and that he feels like he´s changing, like the Lord is with him. He´s going to talk to his wife (she gets back today), and going to talk with her about when he´s going to be baptized.</div> <div><br></div><div>Whoo-hoo! That´s always the best answer to the question "What does God want you to do?" "To Follow Christ." Because, really, when we are baptized, we are following Christ- his example, his teachings, his commandments. It is a good thing. </div> <div><br></div><div>Thank you all for your love and for your prayers. I need them, and I´m glad for them. </div><div><br></div><div>I love you all!</div><div><br></div><div>Elder Zach Stay</div></div> </div><br></div> <p></p> -- <br /> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Elder Zachary Stay" group.<br /> To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an email to <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a>.<br /> For more options, visit <a href="https://groups.google.com/d/optout />
